Our Story

Partylist started with a simple observation: the people who actually make events happen — caterers, DJs, photographers, florists, planners, and venues — were still running their businesses like a group chat.

A host would message six vendors. Prices lived in screenshots. Dates lived in someone’s notes app. Payment showed up late, or not at all. The vendor who did the work still had to chase an invoice after the last guest had gone home.

The problem we kept seeing

Event work is skilled, timed, and expensive to deliver. Yet the way it was booked treated vendors like they were optional. No shared catalog. No paid confirmation before the date. No one place for the host and the vendor to talk once the job was real.

We did not want another “inspiration” feed. We wanted the operating system for the people who show up with the food, the sound, the flowers, and the keys to the room.

What we built

Partylist is a Canadian marketplace where vendors list services as clear packages — with a fixed price and guest min/max — and hosts pay when they book. There are no listing fees and no monthly subscription to keep a storefront live. We take a standard 15% platform fee only on completed bookings. Vendors keep 85%.

After signup, vendors complete a three-step profile. Our team reviews and activates the storefront. From there, a new order has a 24-hour window to accept or reject. Chat lives on the order, with photos, so nobody is hunting DMs. When the job is done, the vendor marks it complete. Funds go through a short review window, then credit to the Partylist wallet. Payouts to a Canadian bank can be requested from $500 and typically land in 2–3 business days.

Where we are now

We are live across Canada, with a focus on cities where hosts already search for event help: Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Edmonton. The vendor portal is open today at vendor.usepartylist.com. A Partylist app for hosts is on the way — the website and vendor tools come first.

Rankings on the monthly leaderboard come from completed events and volume, not from buying ads. Reviews attach to real, settled bookings. That is the story we want hosts to see: work that actually happened.

What we believe

Vendors should not have to beg to get paid. Hosts should not have to guess what a package includes. A booking should be a booking: paid, dated, and talkable in one thread. If we do that well, the party is easier for everyone in the room — including the people who built it.
